The Detroit River Water Festival is provided at no cost to the schools that participate. Public and private support is crucial to the success and continued growth of this educational program. There are many ways you can help support the Detroit River Water Festival. You can volunteer, donate, or help spread the word! If you are a business or corporation, you can sponsor, donate supplies, or send volunteers out.

There are a few volunteer roles with the Detroit River Water Festival (DRWF). Here’s some information about each role so you can determine which role fits you best! All volunteers must arrive before 9:00 a.m. for volunteer orientation. **All volunteers will receive free coffee, donuts, boxed lunches, & refreshments, as well as DRWF swag.** For questions about volunteering, please reach out to Jaclyn Heikkila at jheikkila@detroitriver.org.

**Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities:**
**Event Set-up:** must arrive by 7:30 a.m. on the first day of the festival, must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
**Class Guides:** play a very important role by guiding each chaperoned class to their correct presentation locations. Must arrive for volunteer orientation at 9:00 a.m., must stay until students depart at 1:30 p.m., must be able to walk .25 mile and stand for the duration of event.
**Lunch Watch:** must be present during lunch period (11:45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.), helps assist with dietary restrictions and keeping lunch area clean and free of trash.
**Event Breakdown:** must arrive before 1:30 p.m. each day. Helps take care of trash disposal, break down presenter locations. On last day of festival you must be able to lift and move up to 50lbs.
